Happy Saturday!
I wanted to share my experience with clip in extensions and what worked and what didn't. I love being able to take out the extensions and rub my head verse having them beaded or taped in. (Nothing wrong with that and I'm still looking into getting more permanent ones but for now clips are my jam). I have been wearing extensions for years. I have literally tried and bought 5-6 different brands and finally found one that I LOVE!
I'll start with ones I personally didn't love. But feel free to look into these ones, I know they are well known brands but they just didn't do the trick for me.
Euronext: These were great starter hair extensions, but I feel there just wasn't a lot of hair on the clips. So if you're looking for something easy, thinner and inexpensive then maybe these would work best for you.
Bellamy: I used these extensions for quite sometime. So many celebs and bloggers wore these when I was looking for new extensions. So I figured I would give them a try. They have a ton of hair on the wefts and the color selection is great. They are pretty pricey though. The only problem I had with these were they started to clump/get ratty at the base of my head. And I was constantly using a brush to get the knots out. And it was getting so annoying so I started researching other brands. I thought it may have been just been a bad batch so I ordered a new one and same thing happened. And my sister was having the same problem so I decided to try new ones.
Irresistible Me:Tried these and they were good and I only bought one set. I just felt the colors were a tad off and they looked fake when I put them in my hair. They were good quality and curled well just didn't look right on me. So nothing wrong with this brand I just couldn't find a color or set that looked good on me.
So I finally researched some more and my friend told me to give MILK+BLUSH extensions a try. So I bought these and never looked back!
MILK + BLUSH: These bad boys are AMAZING! I have been using them for 3 years now. My sister and hairdresser switched over and couldn't be happier. The colors are great and they look so good on everyone. My sister is brunette and she gets the color Love This Feeling.
I get the color paparazzi and the 24-26 in and 220 grams.
I once got the 20-22 in and those were more on the 20 in side. And I wanted them to be longer. I'll include a picture so you can see the difference.
The set comes with a color swatch. So if you don't think that particular color is for you, then you can send the hair back and get a refund.
These curl super well! And I usually get a new pair every 6-8 months. Depending on how much I wore mine within that time frame. I've had some last me longer.
I use Remy shampoo and conditioner from Amazon. I have used my typical shampoo and conditioner and it was fine, but the Remy products make them last longer and feel smoother/shinier.
Like anything else, these do take practice and you may want to play with them to see what you like best. Once you get the hang of it, they take less than 10 minutes to put in.
How I put them in:
I start with the longest weft and put that and the base of my head
I then take the two 3 clip wefts and put those on each side of my head right above my ear.
Then the next five 2 clip wefts I alternate on both sides. I put the fifth one on whatever side has more hair (the side you part on or if you do it down the middle you can put it at the back of your head.)
The two single clips I put in the back of my head to fill the gaps.
Below is the video on how I do it:
